Israel, Lebanon, and oil prices

Here go the gas prices again!!! This thing between Israel and the Arab world has the oil people scared so the first thing that they do is to jack up prices before anything actually happens. Big oil owns our government. I truly believe this. They have put mega bucks in every congressman's campaign fund so therefore our government is not going to do anything. Oh they might make some noises about possible investigations, but if you will notice the investigations never actually take place. After all, we have the best government that money can buy! I wonder what would happen if the work force of this country were to send our legislators a message by having a two day period where everyone stays home. Just simply shut the country down for two days. Wow! would we have a surplus of gas or what? We might make the folks in Washington a bit nervous too. Imagine them thinking that they may have lost control of the everyday working stiff.
I also think that it is time to withdraw all support of any kind from the middle east. Let the Arabs and Jews fight it out to decide who is going to be the boss and then deal with the winner. These people have been murdering each other since the earliest days. We are not going to stop them, and we need to learn that.
Okay; I feel better now. Nurse! Oh nurse! Where are my medications???

world cup at the marina

I am working at the marina today as the World Cup's final soccer match begins. The TV room is filled with boaters most of whom are from some European country. There is one French couple, one asian couple, and one couple from the Netherlands. There is also one lone American. The French couple witnessed the French defeat of Brazil with much shouting. It should be really interesting today. I have become more involved with this game since my recent trip across the Atlantic with three Brits. They talked soccer almost the whole way. I wish that the USA would get as involved as the rest of the world, but there is no money in soccer in the USA for athletes. The money here is in Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Fortunately there is more oppurtunity for women in the USA and that is why they do so much better than the American men
